For our last meeting of the year, we knew that throwing a dance party and earning the Dance badge would be super fun for the girls!
A lot of our girls take dance classes after school and have would have completed all of the badge requirements individually, but we wanted to girls to earn the badge as a group.
We started off with a warm up of stretching...
Then worked on proper posture by have them walk balancing a book on their head and taught a deep curtsy at the end.
Then as a group, they preformed the current famous dance moves of the Whip Nae Nae... as always a crowd favorite!!!
We then had them divide into 4 groups and choreograph their own dance moves to "Better When I'm Dancin" by Meghan Trainor.
Due to time, they only had 10 minutes to choreograph their moves... And I'm not lying when I say, there were some darn good moves! We definitely have some dancers in our group!!
What impressed me the most is in each group, 1 or 2 girls automatically took the leader role and the others welcomed their lead and each group incorporated dance moves that every girl could perform with confidence.
After our dance party, we moved back into our Brownie circle and reaped our year together... We covered SO MUCH within our 7 months together it's unbelievable!
Just look at their vest loaded with badged and patches!!
At our very 1st meeting, we made a "Discovering Ourselves" board.
On their 1st day as a Brownie, they stated 1 thing that they thought was their best talent and we wrote it on their Discovery Star.
After 7 months of diving into self discovery and teamwork, it was appropriate to bring our board back out and see if we had any changes...
Most girls wanted to keep their talent the same and a few girls changed it but EVERY GIRL wanted to add talents to it!!!
We finished the meeting with our closing ceremony of presenting the girls with their 1st year Brownie pin, a 1st year Brownie certificate, and a white rose - which they chose as their Troop Crest.
