The girls worked hard all year working on the Journey, Brownie Quest!
"It's Your World - Change It!"
Quest focuses on 3 Keys: Discovering, Connecting and Taking Action
Amy and I guided the girls along with way of self discovering and connecting as a team but we left it up to the girls for how they wanted to take action.
We felt that they had been given the tools they needed for taking on a successful project.
In our Brownie circle, we let the girls (one by one) suggest an area that they would like to focus on... Suggestions included: book donation to a preschool, clothing drive, healthy food drive but the winner was, by a landslide -- helping an animal shelter!!
All of these girls have such a love for animals; we knew they would do amazing!
We chose Operation Kindness as their shelter because one of our Brownies volunteers there with her aunt. We loved the idea of supporting a place that our families already support!
The girls individually collected donations for cats and dogs and brought them to our April meeting. We also collectively decided to give Operation Kindness 10% of our Girl Scout Cookie profits.
So in addition to their action project they learned about the importance of giving back and earned the Brownie Give Back badge along the way!
