Ford and the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas teamed up to bring a scream-out-loud wood car racing event to Brownies and Juniors. With this race, the girls got hands-on experience with STEAM concepts, like engineering and design.
Charlotte represented Troop 8272 as a 1st time racer.
We received a the pinewood block of wood and wheels in the mail with specific instructions and race regulations. For this 1st time, we chose a simple wedge design car, but as you see below, there were cars of all different shapes and and designs...
She had a blast decorating it and once at the races, Ford employees helped her add extra weights to her car so that it would go even faster!
